5 Tips- How to keep your home tidy

Updated: Jan 20, 2021

Keeping up with daily house cleaning can be difficult at times however, it doesn't always have to take too much of your time. Sometimes its not even about the time its about making the time in your day. Prioritizing a time to tidy up every day will take a lot of stress off your shoulders! Making it a daily habit to clean up will make it easier every day to keep up with your home. Of course, there are still times when things get crazy, and tidying up is the last thing on your mind. If you try to do these tips and tricks every day it'll keep getting easier and you'll have more control over your home!

Start by making your bed

Some people think "well why should I make it just to get into it again?" Here is why, as soon as you accomplish making your bed in the morning, you will feel accomplished and ready to start your day. And isn't it the best feeling to climb into your nicely made bed after a long day of work? To simplify the process you can illuminate the number of the pillows on your bed and have a simple comforter on top. This is an easy step to start tidying up your home.

Laundry

Depending on the size of your home and your family, you may want to consider having laundry days. You can either do a load every day or maybe have 3-4 days during the week where you do laundry. This will help with the build-up throughout the week. To stop the procrastination of doing laundry once you can't see the floor anymore, you should try this!

Getting everyone involved

Getting everyone involved in your family will help you keep everything tidy. If everyone is in charge of themselves, for example putting their coat and shoes away, their belongings in their rooms, dishes in the dishwasher, and then you can add chores as necessary. This simple way of getting everyone participating can really make a difference in getting the home back into shape. Over time, this will become an easy habit and you'll hardly have to consciously

think about doing it.

15 Minute Cleanups

Set your timer for 15 minutes every night and try to get as much done as possible. If everyone has assigned tasks or an area of the house, you can usually get everything put away pretty quickly. This is a fun idea to create a quick cleaning process.

Clean as you go

This tip is quite the obvious one however, it could be the most effective. Some people just don't have the time and energy at the end of the day to tidy up. Try this, when you are making dinner, open up that dishwasher and start filling it up as you go. By doing this its quick, you don't wait till the end and you illuminate this task completely. Because you know those dishes can pile up pretty quickly. Use this for every task, like your shoes and coat. Put those away as you are walking through the door, make your bed as you are getting up in the morning. By doing this you get it done immediately and you don't have to take time from your day later to get it done. These are just habits that take a little planning to get used to. Once you have these habits down, it'll be a lot easier to keep your home tidy.
